Welcome to the Australian Domestic & Family Violence Clearinghouse

The Clearinghouse provides an extensive database of domestic and family violence literature to support research, DV service delivery and policy development. Our database is an Australian collection including peer reviewed articles, government reports and other practice-based publications. Some key international items are included, but we do not aim to have a comprehensive international reach.

The Clearinghouse continually scans DV research and practice environments for appropriate publications to keep the data base up to date and we promote new items through our Twitter feed, monthly e-news and website.

In addition to maintaining this specialised data base that is accessible for free through our website, we can offer brief consultations (up to 20 minutes) to provide:

  • Technical advice on how to navigate our data base
  • Keywords and search terms to suit your needs
  • Suggestions of key authors or reports of interest
  • Short discussions about your area of research or practice to support you to find the appropriate evidence/research/current debates

We do not provide:

  • Copies of publications, other than those already available in pdf on our website
  • Literature searches done by us on your behalf
  • Formal presentations

If you seek a media enquiry, please contact us and we may refer you.

Please note we are not a service organisation, if you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence and you need advice, information or support, contact 1800 RESPECT on 1800 737 732. Telephone counselors are available 24/7.
